(NBA) Cleveland +5 over Boston
This is a 48-hour turnaround home-and-home, the Cavs winning 88-87 in Boston on Sunday. It’s the fourth game in six nights plus travel for the geriatric walking wounded Celts. This is the third game in five nights for the fiesty Cavs who are 9-5 as a dog, 7-3 ATS vs losing records, and 4-1 ATS against offensively challenged teams like Boston that averages less than 91 ppg. Boston just 5-6 as a bully and already 0-3 this year avenging a home loss. If the Cavs play defense, clear the boards, and keep the game in the 80s or low 90s, there’s no reason Cleveland can’t win straight here. Take the points.

(CBB) Oklahoma State -4 over Texas Tech
The home team is 13-1 straight up in the series so why would we take the 10-11 Oklahoma State Cowboys to win straight up ??? We’ll, the Cowboys are not much but the Texas Tech Red Raiders are even less. In fact, vs the points, the Texas Tech is 4-11 overall, 4-8 as a dog, and 0-6 at home, 0-3-1 as a Big 12 home dog. These two met in Still water with the Cowboys winning 67-59 in a game where they turned the all over just twice all game. Hate to keep piling on but the Red Raider have lost last five by 12-13-24-9-7 and showing no buy signs that things will change. Oklahoma State.

(NHL) Toronto at Pittsburg Over 5.5
Neither team has played in a week as the grunts went home to rest during the All-Star break and the super stars had to travel and take part in all the ASG hoopla in Ottawa. SP3 is thinking that most teams won’t be all that sharp in their first and second games back. These are two of the better offesive teams in the league, particularly the Penguins who were hitting on all cylinders scoring 28 times in their seven straight wins. Seven of the last nine in the series have gone over the total including the last four in The Igloo. The only meeting this year was Leafs 4-3 in Toronto. Play the over.

(NHL) Boston at Ottawa Over 5.5
The Leaf/Penguin writeup could be interchangeable with the Bruins/Senators. Both teams are high scoring with plenty of snipers and both team don’t figure to be particularly sharp off the hiatus. The Sens were the among the league leaders in scoring over the first 90 days although January has seen a power outage. 38 goals were scored in the Bruins last five games and the over is 8-2 in their last two games. These division rivals have played twice this year with Boston winning 5-2 and 5-3. Expect more of the same high octane scoring tonight.
