The Falcons have locked up the #1 seed in the NFL and won’t have to play another game outdoors in 2012-2013. They will likely rest some of the wounded and it’s tough to say how long some of the key starters but the Dirty Birds will not lay down. Not after the recent lack of success of top seeds (Falcons two years ago, Green Bay last year) and their own post-season failures under Smith 0-3 that included a 24-2 spanking by the G-Men last year. The Falcons are 7-0 at home this year (4-3 as a HF) and have only lost five times straight up in the Georgia Dome since Matty Ice came to Hotlanta. Call it whatever you want but it sure looks like the Bucs have quit. They’ve lost five straight after a real promising start. Their are all kinds of reports of dissension in the locker room over Schiano’s heavy handed rah rah college tactics. The Bucs have one offensive touchdown and ten turnovers in 23 drives over the last two games with Josh Freeman getting picked an amazing eight times. Tampa Bay is 0-8 straight up and 1-7 ATS in their L8 division games and thanks to playbook we have this little tech …. there have been four teams since 1980 that played a division opponent in in the final game of the season after going 0-5 SU in ATS in their prior five. . They went 0-4 straight up and against the points losing by an average of 19 ppg. Five of the last six for both teams have stayed under the total so this may be low scoring but ….. you don’t need a lot when you are laying just 3.5 and 27-10 sounds about right.
