Gary Patterson has done a helluva job during his tenure at TCU (116-34) but this year is arguably his best job ever. The Horned Frogs have had to overcome a ton of injuries to key personnel and even lost their best player (and starting QB) to off the field issues and has still put out a very representative team in the programs first year in the Big 12. The Frogs are off a dominating win over Texas on Thanksgiving Day that was nowhere near as close as the 20-13 final score. In that game, the opportunistic Frog turned Texas QBs over six times resulting in 17 of their 20 points. The Frog offense is not real explosive but steady and new duel-threat QB Trevone Boykin improves every week that he call the shots. The Oklahoma offense has been better over the last monthbut will find the going much tougher here. Not real convinced that Sooner gunslinger Landry Jones will do much business against a staunch TCU front seven and excellent fly-to-the-ball secondary. TCU has never been intimidated by the Sooners covering both recent meetings losing 10-9 (+5.5) here in 1999 and winning 17-10 in Norman as a 25-point dog in the 2005 opener. The techs support the Frogs as well with Oklahoma just 4-6 ATS this year despite scoring 50+ plus point on five different occasions. OU is 1-5 ATS off their L6 Bedlam matchups with Okie State and are just 1-6 in their L10 as a single-digit conference favorite. TCU is 12-1 SU (9-4 ATS) in their L13 home finales and rock a 9-3-1 ATS badge as a conference dog of less than ten points. Expect another blemish on “Big Game” Bob Stoops resume as BOTN calls for the home dog to win this straight up.
