A’s sign Cuban outfielder Cespedas to four years and $36 million
The Mariners and A’s have already reported and the rest of MLB pitchers and catchers will start rolling in as baseball is right around the corner. Seattle and Oakland got special dispensations to start early as they’ll open the MLB season March 28th in Japan. The A’s led the wire on Monday signing Cuban power-hitting speedster Yoenis Cespedas to a four-years deal. cespedas will likely start in the minors and will be brought up once he’s acclimated to his new surroundings. Oakland also signed OF Coco Crisp to a two-year $14 million dollar deal.
West Virginia has officially reached a buyout agreement with the Big East and will officially join the Big 12 next year. The Mounties will by their way out of the Big East for $20 million, $10 million immediately from the school. The Big 12 will front the Mountaineers the remaining $10 million of which the the school will have to pay back half. Pittsburg and Syracuse will reamin in the Big East before moving to the ACC in 2013.

(CBB) Texas -3 over Oklahoma
Texas was dead and buried Saturday on their home court down 14 to Kansas State on Saturday. The Longhorn showed a lot of guts roaring back to win and might just make some noise in The Dance. Saturday, Oklahoma was blown out by the previously winless Texas Tech Red Raiders and are watching their season circling the drain. Lon Kruger has done a nice job with what he has but it’s not a whol lot and the Sooners will have trouble holding serve on their home court. Three of OUs four conference home losses are by 7+ so not real concerned about B12 trend of home faves of less than three going 8-1-1. We’ll take Texas here.
